How to Clean your Makeup Brushes

We recommend cleaning your brushes about once a week - of course you can wash them more or less often depending on amount of use and your personal preference.

This very simple method for cleaning brushes has proven to be highly effective for keeping all our makeup brushes (both synthetic and natural hair) in tip-top condition.

Wash.

Wet your brush.Wet your brush by holding it, head down at an angle, under luke warm running water.

**Do not submerge your brush and do not run water into the ferrule.

Work a small amount of gentle cleanser into the hairs. Wash thoroughly but gently - don't scrub.

Conditioning shampoo, baby shampoo, Woolite and gentle face cleansers such as Cetaphil all work very well.
Wash your brush gently.

Rinse.

Rinse your brush by holding it, head down at an angle, under luke warm running water until the water is clear. **Again, do not submerge or run water into the ferrule.

Dry.

Squeeze out excess water from the brush. Using a clean dry towel, gently squeeze the excess water from the brush hairs.

Reshape to original form. In the case of your Buki brush, just a little fluff should do it.

Lay the brush on a towel to air dry.

Drying time will vary depending on the brush. Your eye shadow and concealer brush may dry in about an hour; your Buki may take 5 or 6 hours to dry.
Let your brush dry.

Protect.

To prevent dust and dirt from settling in your makeup brushes, store them in a clean, dry, protected place such as a vanity drawer, brush pouch or makeup bag.
